Minnesota Lands

Rain falls on this dark predawn,

Some are sleeping with washed windows.

Dawn's new day is calling.

On a summer morning,

the starting gate is ajar,

the tea kettle eagerly waiting for anyone

conveniently at hand.

No one is walking below,

winds blow, moisture follows well-marked courses,

collected in our aquariums teeming with fish.

Clear or cloudy days are better for traveling

in Minnesota's lands.
